In this Frequently Asked Questions section we have tried to give simple answers to the most common queries. These answers are often based on points covered in our Terms and Conditions section. We abide by our Terms and Conditions in our dealings with our customers so these FAQ’s should be regarded as helpful guidance rather than definitive statements.
How much is your delivery service and what do you offer?
Delivery is free to any U.K Mainland Address on Orders over £299. Less than that we will charge £19.95 unless otherwise stated. Most larger items are sent using two person delivery teams who will carry an item to the room for which it was purchased provided that there are no access problems by reason of the size of the item. Larger items often come in smaller sub units to help with delivery and in some cases items like wardrobes are either delivered flat-packed or allow further dismantling by the customer if the delivery team is not able to get the item to its final destination. Beds are always packed flat and tables are usually delivered with legs removed to facilitate passing through doorways etc. If you are concerned about access the best course is to discuss this with our sales team at the time of purchasing. Final assembly of items delivered in sub-units, or packed flat, is the customer’s responsibility. Smaller items, and sometimes beds and mattresses, may be posted or delivered by one person. The delivery will then be to your door rather than to a room. Unpacking and removal of wrapping is not part of the delivery service unless pre-arranged. If you have any doubts at all about the preceeding comments, or would like to vary these delivery arrangements, or find out about our charge for enhancement of these delivery services, please speak to our sales staff at time of ordering.
Does your website show everything you sell and why isn’t every item priced?
We can often supply brands and ranges which are not currently listed on our website so please telephone us if you cannot find what you are looking for. We price most items on our site to allow for direct online purchasing but some ranges or parts of ranges may not yet have a price listing and we welcome your call or email about these.
How long will my order take to arrive?
Lead times quoted are for guidance only, and are based on information given to us by our suppliers. Please bear in mind, most items will take 3-6 weeks but some can be delivered sooner and others may take longer. Many of our products involve a choice of finish etc and are made specially for you once they are ordered. For this reason we do not hold vast stocks. If the quoted lead time is longer than you would ideally like or even if you would like a delayed delivery time, please contact us as with your needs and we will try to help.
What about canceling or returning an order?
You can cancel and withdraw from your order within 7days of ordering your goods without charge. Please see our terms and conditions about your full rights of cancellation or return.
What sort of guarantee do I get when I purchase an item?
All guarantees are given in accordance with legal requirements, and we and our suppliers guarantee the quality of manufacture for 12 months. Any additional guarantee statements are contained within the individual product descriptions. This does not affect your statutory rights. We always try to be as helpful as possible on the rare occasions when customers have product complaints.
How careful are you with my personal and financial details when I purchase?
We store all customer data in accordance with legal requirements, and do not pass or sell on any information to third parties. Contact details are shared with our delivery agents for obvious reasons but they never see your financial data. Financial data taken on line uses the Protx encrypted process which means that your card details never enter our software systems and are dealt with entirely by the extremely secure Protyx servers in cooperation with your encrypted bank servers. Card details entrusted to us over the telephone are carefully and securely stored. You are entitled to receive information and to amend, block and delete your stored data. I know you have a safe online purchasing procedure but I still prefer to give my order in person over the telephone. Can I do that?
Most definitely. In fact many of our customers placing larger or more complicated orders prefer the personal touch for the reassurance this gives them that they are ordering the correct items and we are happy to oblige.
Will I get any further order confirmation other than via my computer?
Although online orders generate an automatic online confirmation, we also always send a printed invoice, with a unique invoice number, through the post. That way if your computer goes down you still have a record of your purchase. The unique invoice number should be quoted if you have any follow up queries but don’t panic if you don’t have it to hand as we can usually track you via your postcode and name.
Do you have a catalogue you could send me?
Catalogues from many of our suppliers are now downloadable online. Our site often provides a link for this. If you can’t see the link or if the information provided on our site about the product or range is insufficient please contact us and we will see what else is available.
What methods of payment do you accept?
We accept all Visa, Mastercard, Switch, Maestro & Electron cards online via the secure server or in our store. We regret we no longer accept cheques. For larger orders we are often able to offer interest free credit facilities (subject to approval by the finace company) provided these are agreed at time of purchasing.
When do I pay for my order?
Unless otherwise stated or agreed, payment is taken in full at time of purchase. This condition can be varied and you may wish to place an order with a deposit . In that case the balance due will be taken from the card details used for the deposit once our suppliers advise us that your order will soon be leaving them and entering our distribution chain.
How do your prices compare to others?
We make it our policy to be extremely competitive while offering the highest levels of service. We make it our business to check out the competition and offer a price match promise which you are welcome to test. We’re not perfect so if you have found what you believe to be a cheaper total price elsewhere please give us a call and give us a chance to re-consider our pricing.
Can my goods be left outside my house if I’m not there?
Unfortunately we cannot leave any goods without a signature on delivery. We will happily deliver to a neighbour if we have your prior authority to do so and if they are willing to sign for receipt on your behalf.
Once my order is ready how do I know when it will arrive?
Most of our delivery agents book their delivery after speaking to you directly. They will agree a day and approximate time slot with you but remember they have to plan a route and may be allocating particular days for particular postcodes and may not be able to vary these. If you have a mobile phone they will often agree to telephone you when they are, say, a half hour away in case that helps because you work nearby or have had to pop out unexpectedly. This pre-booking of deliveries obviously does not apply to items we post and may not apply to some of our delivery services so talk to us when ordering if you would like more information.
